About Us
Little Angel Child Care Center was started in the home of Cheri Page
in 1983 after the birth of her second child. Cheri wanted to stay home
and raise her two children, but still needed to have an income. In
1983 Little Angel Child Care received a license to operate a family
day care for eight children. In a few years, 1985, the center had grown
to twelve children forcing Little Angel Child Care to relocate to accommodate
the increase in children at a commercially zoned building to receive
a new license for more children.
Cornerstone Assembly Church rented space to Little Angel Child Care to move into. After a short time Little
Angel Child Care increased its license to accommodate 45 children. In 1988 there was a change in
administration for the church and the church was put up for sale. At that time Little
Angel Child Care was given notice that they would have to move out.
Cheri Page and her family then purchased a large Victorian house
at 1208 N. Oneida Street to move the center. At this new location it was licensed
for 34 children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
In 1993 Little Angel Child Care started an after-school program at 912 N. Oneida Street, Zion
Lutheran Church. The location was great asset to Little Angel Child Care because it has a gym, park
and large classrooms. Little Angel Child Care purchased a 12 passenger van to
provide educational field trips for the children.
Many of the teachers have been with Little Angel Child Care Center
for more then ten years and are dedicated to each child's development.
Our philosophy is that the children come first. It is important that
all children are happy and learn through organized play and planned
activities. We want all children to be exposed to music, art and
literature every day of their life.
For the past thirty-two years we encourage parents, community leaders
and volunteers to join the board of directors for Little Angel
Child Care. Little Angel Child Care is a not-for-profit organization.
Fundraising
Dear Community Supporters,
I am Cheri Page the Founder and director of Little Angel Child Care for the past thirty-two years. Little Angel Child Care’s mission is to provide affordable, quality child care for low income and special needs children in Appleton. The corporation is a non-profit that needs your help. Unlike other child care centers, many of the teachers at Little Angel Child Care have been employed for over fifteen years.
Many our parents cannot afford to pay the true cost of child care and struggle with payments weekly. In the past years Little Angel Child Care has helped families by caring for their children while parents look for work or are in the hospital with a serious illness. Our great state offers child care assistance to low income families, but it can take up to four weeks after a parent finds a job for the child care assistance to start. We never say no to parents that need to start work before their child care assistance starts. Little Angel Child Care Center has not raised their child care fees for many years to ensure rates are as affordable as possible. Last year Little Angel Child Care started charging by the hour to make it more affordable for low income families.
Little Angel Child Care is in need of raising money to pay the child care costs for low income families. We need educational toys, art supplies, food, paper products, plastic garbage bags, diapers, wet wipes, and gently used or new clothes size 2 – 6 for boys and girls. Every year Little Angel Child Care puts on a Holiday Party for the children. At the party gifts are given to each child and their family to comfort them during this stressful time. To donate gifts for the children or any of the other items mentioned above, please call Little Angel Child Care and talk to Cheri Page at 920.419.0808. We thank you in advance for your consideration.
Respectfully,
Cheri Page, Director
